Our Ministries
Lending Hope Initiative
The Lending Hope Initiative is a revolving loan fund that aids with rent/mortgage payments, utility bills and deposits. Our mission is to offer small, interest-free loans that assist applicants in meeting these housing needs. When the funds are recovered, they are then lent out to others who need them. This makes for a more sustainable approach to helping with housing needs in our area.
Food Insecurity Ministries
Warren Ministries United is committed to fighting food insecurity in Warren County by providing nutritious food to individuals and families in need. Our partnerships with local farms and food distribution initiatives allow us to supply fresh produce and essential groceries to those struggling to afford them. In addition, we host regular food giveaways to support households facing financial hardship. By working together, we strive to make sure that no one in our community goes without the food they need to thrive.
Emergency Shelters
Warren Ministries United is dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in Warren County through compassionate, practical solutions. In response to the growing need, we established emergency shelters, including a men’s, women’s, and family shelters. With the help of grants and community partnerships, we provide shelter during extreme weather conditions, distribute essential supplies, and work toward long-term housing solutions. By coming together, we are making a difference—one person, one family, and one home at a time.
Community Prayer & Worship
At the heart of Warren Ministries United is a commitment to uniting churches and individuals through voluntary prayer and worship. We believe that coming together in faith strengthens our community and inspires action. Our coalition hosts annual events such as community Lenten devotions, Thanksgiving services, and prayer vigils. These gatherings bring together people from different denominations and backgrounds, creating a space for reflection and support. Through worship and prayer, we seek to foster unity, hope, and deeper connections.
Clothing Giveaway
Every First Friday of each month, Warren Ministries United runs a clothing giveaway at the future location of Mag’s Marketplace. This used to be the Just Save located at 307 E Macon St, Warrenton, NC 27589. Anyone looking for clothing is welcomed to find whatever they like without no cost. Monetary and clothing donations are accepted to support this program. Contact us for more information.
Blessings in a Bag
There are many school children who depend on free lunches for their daily nutrition. What happens during the weekend though? Our Blessings in a Bag program works with our county school social worker to identify at risk children. We then create bags of items they can eat over the weekend during the school year to fill the gap during the school year. WMU currently supplies bags for 115 children each week.
